Who I am
I’m Maher; my friends call me Miro. I’m a music producer, musician, and entrepreneur. I have also started writing my own songs and taking a stab at singing.
I love everything sound-related and have played in music albums as a guitarist since I was a teenager. Now, I own Blu Productions, a studio and production house. I worked with top artists in the Middle East and produced soundtracks for some of the most famous shows here. I also worked on several podcasts and ads.
My work has millions of views on YouTube and streams on Spotify. Not really sure how this happened… but hey, something seems to be working here.
I GOT THIS GIG AS A PRODUCER NOT A GUITARIST
Becoming a Producer made me more Valuable to the Market
My decision to become a producer, not just a musician, came out of a desire for two things.
First, I wanted to treat my passion as a business that can sustain me and my family.
Second, I wanted to be in control of the end product. As an artist, I suffered from seeing the final product very different from what I envisioned, simply because control over the artistic vision was not in my hands.
So, I became a producer to own my sound.

The whole story
I grew up in Egypt in with my mom and dad and 3 sisters. I’m the youngest.
I loved music very early on and picked up a guitar and fell in love with it. I always felt this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. And if you know anything about Middle Eastern cultures, music is never considered a real career. “Get yourself a real job” would be the reaction if you say that you want to make a living out of music. You should aim to be either a doctor, and engineer or a pharmacist.
My parents were doctors, so that even put more expectations on me to go down this path and consider music just a side hobby.
However, my parents were different. They were also very business oriented. They said “if you want to make a career in music, you have to do it right, you have to treat it like a business.”
And so, They took the leap of faith and sent me to music school. They encouraged me to become a true professional. I studied music theory and sound engineering.
I absolutely loved it. They gave me the chance to actually make a good living out of my passion. It took a lot of hard work, but I’m really grateful to where I am now.
From Guitarist to Producer
Back to my younger days, I continued to play in bands and feature in some songs as a guitarist progressively building my music experience.
One thing that always nagged me whenever I entered a studio. I was never in control of the sound. Regardless of how well I played, the final sound was in the hands of the sound engineers. No one was taking the lead, so it fell to the hands of sound engineers. I was rarely satisfied with the end result. It always felt like the artistic vision got lost in the way. So I decided that I want to own my sound.
I dove into the world of sound production. Consumed every book and course I could get my hands on. This was now starting to look like the beginning of a business.
I founded my studio, Blu Productions, in Cairo in 2019 and it took of from there.
Big Jumps: Famous Artists and TV series
My production got better and I slowly learned how to have a brand as a producer. I began networking with underground artists and my music got better and spread wide.
My business expanded and I got chances to work with some of the biggest names in the Middle East. Samira Saeed, Aziz Maraka, Amr Mustafa and Ihab Abdul Wahed (I know you probably don’t know these names, but they’re big around here, think just plug their name in google).
My music also been featured in major series like “El Harsha el Sab’a”, “Helwa el Denia Sokkar” and in a TV ad with “Etisalat”, one of the top 3 Telecom in the Middle East. That last one has over 32 Million views… even blows my mind.
Breaking New Grounds
In 2023, I continued to expand my horizons. I began songwriting and even singing. I just shot my first single.
Side note: I’ve always loved philosophy and I have a degree in theology. I explore existential questions in my songs.
I co-founded Creators of Sound because I have a passion for teaching.
I’ve given a few live courses on music production, but I decided it was time to scale that further. I want to help artists to be in control of the sound that comes out in the end. If you as a musician or singer know your way around the basics of music production, you will be in control of the artistic vision. And maybe, just maybe, music could become a predictably successful career.
I hope my story could inspire you. The world of sound is not closed off. You just need to pursue it like a business. With enough hard work, knowledge, and discipline, the odds of your success are like any other business.
